For children, it is an opportunity to play with their peers in a non-judgmental environment, supported by staff who understand their needs. For parents and carers, it is an opportunity to relax, spend time with siblings, pop to the shops and enjoy the benefits of respite.

Every session, we run a series of activities based off fun and dynamic themes such as science, nature, the seaside, animals or sport. All children are free to join in with a wide variety of structured activities or do their own thing with the help and guidance of our amazing support staff.

The Saturday Adventure Team follows the base GIRFEC principles and values on children's rights. Our sessions promote the eight well being indicators: Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Active, Nurtured, Respected, Responsible and Included, to promote the wellbeing of each child and young person.

Using a holistic and person centred approach, support staff will encourage each child to develop their strengths, and support any obstacles they may face. Our Care and Support team will work closely with parents and carers to create a Support Plan for each child to better understand how to help each child get the most out of every opportunity.

Our Saturday Adventure Teams in Edinburgh and West Lothian are registered with the Care Inspectorate as Day Care for Children services. Our more recent inspection reports can be read here.

Our staffing team are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and have a full PVG Disclosure check and attend regular training sessions.
